I believe.

The following blog post I am publishing for myself, as I shouldn’t live in fear of people’s judgements or opinions as everyone is entitled to their own.

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

To share this I was fearful of the reception. However, I am not ashamed of the direction my life has taken, or the decision I have made to follow its teachings and commandments. I have finally found my everlasting happiness.

At this point of my life, what can be so draining at times is to be surrounded or even just be focused on the wicked things of the world where ‘wrong’ seems to be the new ‘right’. However, it is through Jesus Christ that those temptations can be expelled. By having faith and being obedient, I am able to have the Holy Spirit to guide me and walk the path of our Saviour and follow His perfect example.

We live in a time when good role models are hard to come by. Our media distorted culture is overwhelmed with worship and praise for celebrities, professional athletes that have increasingly made a practice of letting down those who look up to them. However, we must remind them that it is one’s character and integrity that makes a person a good example to follow; not the material or global status they obtain.

In June 2014, I made the decision to put God first. I chose whom I wanted to follow. That through those sacrifices and holding on to what I knew to be true, and living those standards that Christ personally gave to us to follow, makes enduring to the end not only possible but enjoyable. It has given me peace of mind that not everyone starts out in the same place, but that we can all end up in the same exact place, with God, because of Jesus Christ and his atonement.

I feel so blessed to have the knowledge of the gospel in my life, to have trust in God’s plan and to know that he loves us. So, this is my personal revelation; I hope you have yours.

So don’t be afraid, don’t hold back, and don’t be afraid to share. Be happy.
