Week 8

Hello beautiful people,
So, England has been taken over by a certain game, Pokémon GO !
Everyone and I mean everyone is playing it and it is a great way to approach people and speak to them. Apparently, it was created by an Australian, so I literally walk around and tell people “You’re welcome”, and then it turns into “Why are you here in Telford ?”, and before you know it, I have invited them to church. The reason for inviting them to church is more than just missionary work, in fact, THE CHAPEL IS THE POKEMON TRAINING CENTRE. Yes, exactly. The number of jokes that I have made. Anything from “Training is at 10am on Sunday“, and our mission leader even gives them a card with the QR barcode and tells them “Scan this for the hidden Pokémon”, which obviously just takes them to Mormon.org. So many people are always surrounding the chapel and needless to say, it has been hilarious.

After my last email, we went bowling with the Daniels Family and the Elders and I managed to get two strikes and a spare and I have attached a photo.

Sister Wilson, a less active member. I have visited her twice, and she claims that we are the last set of Sisters that she will ever let visit her because she adores us so much. In fact, she gave us these bears as a present. So sweet !
Also, I was given a care package from the Haymes Family of the Patterson Lakes War. They are currently living in Kendal but moving back to Seaford next month. So if anyone could let them know how grateful I am, that would be lovely !

Last Wednesday was ‘First 5 Weeks’ whereby I was able to not only experience training by President and Sister Ulrich and the Assistants to the President, but I was able to see everyone from the MTC. It was such a nice reunion ! I didn’t realize how much I missed them all. The area that I am in, Wrekin, it is so far away from Manchester, that we were driven up by the Delivery Elders. Road trip and we were able to stay in the Manchester South flat with Sister Menlove and Sister Luo.

Today, Amy, our neighbour, she took Sister Cannon and me to the Iron Bridge. It turns out Telford, our area, is extremely historical. The Iron Bridge was the beginning of the industrial revolution and it is beautiful. Also, Much Wenlock is the place where the Olympics were created. So interesting !

Anyway, I just want to leave you all with a scripture. 1 Nephi 11:17.
‘And I said unto him: I know that he loveth his children; nevertheless, I do not know the meaning of all things.’

We might not know everything but I hope that you can all know that we are children of God with great potential.

Much love,
Sister Turnbull
