Hello beautiful people,
It is time for your favourite email of the transfer, spotlight on Sister Wilkinson. #Wilko
Katelynn Rebecca Wilkinson. Usually, I wouldn’t give you my companions’ full name, but you can see it on facebook now, so does it really matter ? There is no privacy in identity anymore.
Moreover, she is from Pleasant Grove, Utah, and I am surprised that I have not met her previously as I stayed there last year when I visited Utah. Small world.
She was born on the 24th April 1997, is obsessed with cats, finished half a jar of American peanut butter within a month, has gained 30 pounds on her mission, and Disneyland is her second home. She has gone so far as to pin Katella Avenue, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa as her home on our map app. Basically, I am babysitting, not really, but it has been a colourful and floral transfer from her clothing and style.
In all seriousness, she is a wonderful example of growing up in the gospel. She is one of the most patient and virtuous girls I have ever met and I have been able to see the blessings that she has received from coming and living in an area whereby the community centers their lives on the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Furthermore, this week was the General Women’s Session of the church which is basically a time to receive guidance and encouragement from Church leaders about gospel living based on the teachings of Jesus Christ.
The Spirit will confirm to each of us individually our divine worth. Truly knowing that you are a daughter of God will affect every aspect of your life and guide you in the service you render each day…. No matter what, we always have worth in the eyes of our Heavenly Father.
– Joy D. Jones
The promises of praise and acceptance by the world are unreliable, untrue, and unsatisfying. God’s promises are sure, true, and joyful—now and forever.
I invite you to consider religion and faith from a higher perspective. Nothing offered in the great and spacious building can compare with the fruit of living the gospel of Jesus Christ. …
You cannot allow circumstances to make you sad.
You cannot allow them to make you mad.
You can rejoice that you are a child of God. You can find joy and happiness in the grace of God and in the love of Jesus Christ.
You can be glad.
– Dieter F. Uchdorf
It really was a powerful conference that reiterated the divine identity that each one of us has.
For myself, it has provided strength and hope that we were called before the world was, to fulfill a foreordained purpose and that we can eventually receive eternal happiness. How many people truly understand this concept or our individual worth ?
The Elders that I serve alongside within the Chester Ward, they are all obsessed with working out. #proselytingorprotein? Anyway, there is a spiritual point to this. Every morning they listen to this track that is full of motivational quotes, and there is one that they always like to mention: ‘Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.’
President Russel M. Nelson said. ‘With your identity preserved and your priorities properly honored, our Father’s blessings will flow to you by virtue of the holy priesthood, which is without beginning or end.’
I know that despite social attitudes and norms of the world, I know my divine identity to be a daughter of God. I know that I am of worth, that I have a Father in Heaven who loves me more than I can comprehend, He is aware of me, and He desires on the best for me. Ultimately, I know what is important in this life. I know what is going to provide the most satisfaction, and joy. Not the short-term happiness, but one of longevity. One that isn’t of a selfish desire, but one that encourages selflessness. I have a quiet confidence that I can make a difference as I follow my Saviour and Redeemer, Jesus Christ.
Psalms 82:6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.
Have a wonderful week !
Much love,
Sister Turnbull
