Week 70

Hello beautiful people,
I can’t believe it… I reached my 16th month mark yesterday. How the time is starting to speed up and I feel. I already know that I will miss the mission so much !

Anyway, as mentioned in the previous week, it was Elder Ogbeide’s 21st Birthday, and of course #2121212121, it meant we had to do something. Sister Wilkinson and I decided to buy a gift for each room, and decorate their flat.
The gift for each room is as follows:
Dressing Room – A Tommy Hilfiger tie that I approve of
Bathroom – Lynx Black body wash kit
Bedroom – A Welsh Birthday Card ‘Penblwyd Hapus’ signed by the entire district and the assistants to the president, *privileged*
Kitchen – Crunchy Nut Cereal and Milk, of course, whole milk as he likes the protein #gains
Study Room – Smart Water (I am hilarious), Lion Chocolate Bars (Proverbs 28:1), a Welsh Book of Mormon, and a family pack of four pens (He stole mine).

Moreover,
Millions of silver confetti
180 Balloons
6 Hooray ! 21 Today Banners
2 Disco Lights
1 Hour
Let’s just say that the birthday coordinator has retired. Although our AP, Elder Ellis claims that I can’t bring back something that never was there, but I just think he is hurt that I didn’t celebrate his birthday.

For those of you who are not on facebook,

Two years ago while travelling in Singapore, I met Sister-Bronwyn Jones; I was meeting up with Saki and Eri, my friends of Japan, and she was there to further her educational knowledge.
There were many spiritual experiences that I encountered which lead me to reflect upon serving as a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and Bronwyn was a friend that gave greater insight and support into the decision.
It was in Singapore that I received my answer, and I always thought and knew that Bronwyn would make a wonderful missionary.
Fast forward to the present and I am serving as a missionary in the England Manchester Mission, Chester Stake, Bronwyn’s home stake. Because of God’s timing, yesterday I received the tender mercy of being able to see her before her setting apart to become a missionary also.

There are no coincidences, but divine design. As Elder Ronald A. Rasband expressed ‘What may appear to be a random chance is, in fact, overseen by a loving Father in Heaven.’

Sister Jones will have arrived at the Provo Missionary Training Centre before she embarks on her mission to Tokyo, Japan. こんにちは !

In regards to the work, our Nigerian friend Juliet attending church again this week. Unfortunately, she is studying her masters at the University of Chester so we actually haven’t taught her an actual lesson yet, but after the Relief Society mentioned visiting teaching, I defined the program and she asked if we could visit her. I laughed as I didn’t realise she could fit us into her schedule, but she can this week ! Therefore, I am trying my very best to study more of the cross-references of the Book of Mormon and the Bible. Again, our church culture is very different from Juliet’s and therefore the equation of doctrine from scripture and the spirit will be the key to her conversion. She obviously feels something if she is attending each week !

If you want to give a light to others, you have to glow yourself. – Thomas S. Monson

Doctrine and Covenants 84:45-46 For the word of the Lord is truth, and whatsoever is truth is light, and whatsoever is light is Spirit, even the Spirit of Jesus Christ.

And the Spirit giveth light to every man that cometh into the world; and the Spirit enlighteneth every man through the world, that hearkeneth to the voice of the Spirit.

Doctrine and Covenants 50:24 That which is of God is light; and he that receiveth light, and continueth in God, receiveth more light; and that light groweth brighter and brighter until the perfect day.

I know that embedded within us all is the Light of Christ, or the power and influence to do good.

When we have an open heart and an open mind to learn of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the truth will manifest upon us through the thoughts and feelings of the Holy Ghost. My prayer is that we may let our light so shine that we glorify our Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ.

Much love,
Sister Turnbull
